Mission
The Order of Clear Mind Zen practices and teaches socially engaged Zen Buddhism; offers Zen Buddhist religious services and ceremonies, and practices to free all beings from suffering.
Socially Engaged Zen Activities
We work toward fulfilling the Three Pure Precepts. These are
1. Cease Doing Evil
2. Do Good
3. Bring about abundant good for all beings.
We understand these precepts as a call to social action. We manifest this through what we call street Zen.
Bearing Witness: We practice silent witness to human suffering. Two areas of current focus are peace and encouraging loving-kindness.
Becoming a Witnessinvolves a willingness to sit Zazen at times and places where a sitting Buddha will be both a reminder and a plea for peace, non-violence, and loving-kindness. To become a witness for peace and non-violence simply join us. You are welcome to establish a street practice in your area and we will offer you our support in this practice.

Volunteers. Offer to help, create a food drive, or donate your time, skill, and resources to local projects to end hunger, poverty, war, violence, and other social injustices. We must advocate for non-violent solutions to conflict and support efforts to end violence.

With Palms Together,
Dear Friends:
Clear Mind Zen is in need of your support. We wish to start a chaplaincy program and found a physical Zen Center. The Chaplaincy Training at Upaya Zen Center in Santa Fe is $5,000.00 per year for two years. We cannot afford this. A Zen Center will cost about $800.00 per month. We are looking to you to help us in both establishing a Zen Center here in southern New Mexico, as well as funding training for Roshi Daiho so that he may pass on this training to his disciples.
Chaplaincy is that service which provides for spiritual care of those who are sick, injured, or dying. Rev. Daiho has been doing this work for quite sometime. He has worked with Mesilla Valley Hospice and is a member of the Interfaith Clergy group here in Las Cruces. There are several Zen Chaplaincy Training programs in the US. Upaya's is the best, the least expensive, and to most accessible.
A Zen Center would provide a teaching facility for students from all walks of life to come and learn this wonderful practice. Clear Mind Zen Temple will be a non-profit religious service organization providing engaged services the greater southern New Mexico area.
Our web page at http://clearmindzen.org has a PayPal donation button allowing you to select a purpose for your much needed offering. Please consider helping us.
May you be a blessing in the universe.
